The PodUK team is pleased to be working with the Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) Charity once again, albeit under very different circumstances to February. They do fantastic work for the Birmingham community, as detailed here by charity representative (and local podcaster!) Stacey Taylor:

"Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) Charity exists to enhance patient’s experience while they’re under the care of BCHC services. We fund the ‘extras’ such as items, projects, activities, research and training courses that are not covered by the core NHS funds. These extras are the sorts of things that bring a smile to our patients of all ages and their families and carers, and can range from smaller things like books, toys and

toiletries all the way up to huge projects like our therapeutic playground for children with prosthetic limbs. We’ve renovated garden areas, funded beautiful murals, thrown festive parties, and loads more! Visit our website to find out more.
Money raised through PodUK Goes Digital will be placed into our General Fund; this means it can be accessed by any BCHC service, during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. Your kind donations will help us continue in our mission to enhance patient care and improve patient experience across Birmingham.”

The current crisis has meant that BCHC staff working around the clock need essential food parcels and other items to support their wellbeing. Patients and service users who are unable to have visitors need extra facilities to reduce isolation, provide entertainment, and keep them in touch with loved ones. Our amazing NHS colleagues are going above and beyond
the call of duty for our patients and service users, and we want to ensure we can support them to have everything they need to continue doing so.
