Hi!  My name is Denece, and I'm the goofball behind this little project.  The real brains behind the project is God.  :)  On July 2nd, 2008, I was on my way to work and pondering the concert I had attended the night before while spending a little one-on-one time with the Lord.  Suddenly He began to give me a vision of what we now call "Rock Salt".  I'll paraphrase our little convo as follows:

"Denece"

"Yes, Lord"

"I need your help"

"Okay, Father, I'm listening."

"Do you know what I want?"

"No, Lord.  Please tell me."

"I want to rock Denton , Texas ."

That's the gist of it.  The vision is to bring concerts to Denton that showcase rock music by Christian artists.  God wants us to show the world that there truly is amazing music out there that builds up, instead of tears down (and rocks the house in the process). 

You'll notice we're not calling them "Christian Concerts", though.  The reason for that is simple:  This music isn't necessarily praise and worship music.  Some of the music we'll showcase is more often heard in secular circles.  We don't want to give the impression that our events are only for Christians.  Our events will be for anyone who loves rock music. 

So now I find myself running to keep up with the work He is doing in bringing this little project to fruition.  I am, as always, in awe of His ways.  He's already bringing people into my path that are willing to help (which is fabulous, because I'm WAY TOO SMALL to do this thing by myself!), and His fingerprints are all over the details.

So, that's the beginning.  I'm excited to see where He is taking us.  Rest assured I'll keep you all posted, too!  :)
